Sunday 24 September
The Henry Cecil Open Weekend is looking forward to welcoming visitors to British horseracing’s headquarters on Sunday 24th September 2023.
An action packed Sunday starts on Warren Hill, sponsored by Tattersalls, when you can see some of the equine stars in action between 8am-9am. Last year’s visitors were able to see the superstar Baaeed and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine Alpinista canter up Warren Hill.
Yards are then open for exclusive behind the scenes access at some of British Horseracing’s most well-known racing yards. The full list of yards opening in 2023 will be announced in due course.
Many famous champions have been purchased in the Tattersalls sales ring, including the 2023 QIPCO 2,000 Guineas winner Chaldean, 2022 Cazoo Derby winner Desert Crown, 2022 QIPCO 1,000 Guineas winner Cachet. At 12pm on Sunday the ‘Tattersalls Talk’ will take place in the main sales ring with a top international bloodstock agent to explain the sales process and give a fascinating insight into the bloodstock industry.
Sunday afternoon’s entertainment will take place in the main arena on The Severals from 1pm and will feature a new event in 2023, the Shetland Pony Grand National. Other events taking place include the Fun Dog Show, HCOW Racehorse Parade sponsored by Al Shaqab, and the hugely popular Racing Personality Show Jumping Competition.
