William Hill is today announced as the Official Betting Partner of the QIPCO Guineas Festival at Newmarket next week (Friday 3rd May – Sunday 5th May inclusive).
The leading bookmaker builds on its successful partnership with The Jockey Club, having also been the Official Betting Partner of the Randox Grand National Festival at Aintree earlier this month.
William Hill also has an established presence on the Rowley Mile, with a betting shop on the ground floor of the Millennium Grandstand. In addition, the company’s founder, William Hill himself, was the breeder of 1949 2000 Guineas and Derby hero Nimbus.
This exciting new partnership will see William Hill have its name attached to 15 races across the three days of the QIPCO Guineas Festival.
The William Hill-sponsored races include the Group Two Jockey Club Stakes on Friday as well as the Group Three Palace House Stakes on Saturday and the Group Two Dahlia Stakes on Sunday. The two £100,000 Heritage Handicaps on Saturday, the Suffolk Handicap and the Rowley Handicap, will also be William Hill-sponsored.
Sophie Able, Newmarket Racecourses General Manager and International Director, commented: “We are delighted to build on our longstanding and successful relationship with William Hill with this Official Betting Partner announcement.
“There is a real sense of anticipation in the air with the QIPCO Guineas Festival now just over a week away and I would like to thank William Hill for its generous support of 15 races across the three days.”
William Hill's Head of Media, Sponsorship and Social, Daryl West, added: “For many racing fans, the QIPCO Guineas Festival at Newmarket is the meeting where the Flat turf season really hits its stride and we are therefore thrilled to be the Official Betting Partner.
“This year we have the added excitement of the reappearance of City Of Troy in the QIPCO 2000 Guineas, who is the most exciting horse to be seen in many a year and our current 4-6 market leader.
“We look forward to a wonderful three days.”
