Grand National FAQs

Aintree Racecourse is located on the A59, just one mile from the M57 and M58, which link the M62 and M6.

Please check the event schedule for the most up to date timings.

We would advise spectators arrive at Aintree Racecourse early to make the most of your day and also to allow for racecourse security procedures.

Please note that these times are subject to change.

Car parking must be booked in advance.

Car parks will open at 6am each day, however you will not be able to access the racecourse until gates open.

Our racecourses continue to operate on a ‘cashless’ basis, including concessions. However, cash may be used when placing bets with all on-course bookmakers.

Customers are being advised not to bring a bag larger than a small handbag (30cm x 10cm x 20cm) with them. Please be aware that there will be no left luggage facility on site.

Perfume and aftershave is allowed, however, customers should note that they may be asked to spray some onto themselves to prove that it isn’t harmful.

Bringing a bag will further delay your entry to the racecourse and we, therefore, encourage you not to bring any bags or prohibited items to the racecourse.

Limited seating is available around the racecourse. If you would prefer to be seated for most of the day, it is advisable that you purchase a seat for viewing in advance in one of our grandstands or in the West Tip Seats.

Please note portable seating is not permitted.

There’s no official dress code at The Grand National. We encourage you to come dressed to feel your best! Aintree is a spectacle of colour for all three days of the festival, with many using their trip as an opportunity to showcase their favourite raceday looks”.

Children require a ticket for entry to the racecourse.  Please note that children pay full rpice for tickets at the Randox Grand Naitonal Festival.

Child tickets can be obtained upon the purchase of a full paid adult ticket by calling 0344 579 3001 and quoting your order number (no further booking fees are applied).

Child tickets are capped to a maximum of 200 for each day.

Please note: children’s admissions will be restricted to 2 per adult ticket sold.

No visit to the Randox Grand National Festival is complete without a stay in this vibrant region.

The Tourist Board for the Liverpool City Region offers a free accommodation search and booking service to assist you in planning your stay.

Food and drink cannot be brought onto the racecourse and will be confiscated by security staff upon arrival. Aintree has a wide range of food and drink concessions on offer in all enclosures. Picnics can only be consumed in the parking areas.

Upgrades on your ticket may be available on the day, subject to availability, but we advise you to buy your tickets or badges in advance to avoid disappointment.
