Festive Fair comes back bigger and better at Cheltenham Racecourse

Press Release 22nd September 2017 Cheltenham

Christmas is coming early to Cheltenham Racecourse as an expanded seasonal spectacular will be returning to the prestigious venue for its 12th year.  Running between Thursday, October 19 and Sunday, October 22 the Cheltenham Christmas Gift & Fashion Fair will feature more than 150 companies out in force selling a whole host of products.

For 2017, the event, which will take place in The Centaur, has been extended and will now run for four days instead of three - giving people more time to get into the festive spirit and pick up those perfect presents.

Noelle Walsh, director of The Value for Money Company, which organises the event is hoping to see more Christmas revellers than ever before turn out for the special event.

“Last year, we had 10,600 people over three days at Cheltenham Racecourse,” said Noelle. “So with the extra day that the fair is running, we are hoping to see around 14,000 customers.

“More than 150 top quality companies selling an exclusive selection of stylish gifts, festive food, sensational stocking fillers, fabulous fashion, unique items for your home and garden, great games and toys, as well as stunning fashion accessories from jewellery to handbags.

“We run the event in support of the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, which is a local hospice in Cheltenham, and I have a personal connection as staff cared for a friend of mine three years ago.

“The charity have a range of top class shops locally from which they collect a fabulous selection of clothes and gifts to sell at the Fair which raises about £8,000 each year here.

“It’s going to be another great event and will be the perfect way to start your Christmas celebrations.”

The event will be open between 9.30am and 5.30pm on the Thursday and Friday, 9.30am until 5pm on the Saturday and then from 9.30am until 4.30pm on the Sunday.

Lee Moulson, Regional Head of Sales at Cheltenham Racecourse, said: “We are so pleased that the Cheltenham Christmas Gift & Fashion Fair is returning once again and that this year it is expanding.

“It is going to be four days filled with festive fun, so if you haven’t got your tickets yet, don’t forget to book them.

“The fair is always such a popular event with thousands coming along, so it really does start the countdown to Christmas around the racecourse.”

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online for £4, over the phone for £6 or people can pay £7 on the door at the event, children under 16 go free.
