Travel Back In Time To Celebrate The Festive Season At Cheltenham Racecourse

Press Release 10th September 2018 Cheltenham

The rich decadence of the roaring 20’s will be brought back to life this Christmas at Cheltenham Racecourse.

It may only be April, but people are already being given the chance to get their seasonal celebrations sorted when the venue hosts ‘The Great Gatsby’ Christmas Party.

Guests will be able to travel back to an era of excess as they are transported through the music, entertainment and glamour of such a memorable point in history.

After the popularity of last year’s event, the venue has added an additional date for guests to experience the thrill of the 1920s on December 14 and 15, 2018.

Premier 20s and 30s band, Jivin Miss Daisy, who have previously performed at the series launch for Sky Atlantic’s hit TV show Boardwalk Empire, will provide the soundtrack for the two evenings, followed by a DJ.

The event will include a festive three course meal, a complimentary festive-themed cocktail and music throughout the night.

Those feeling lucky during the evening will have the chance to play a game or two at the casino table and additionally all guests will receive two tickets to upcoming races at Cheltenham which are redeemable online.

Not only that, the Christmas Party nights will be going ahead at the same weekend as Cheltenham’s popular December racemeeting, The International, so people can make a real day out of it and combine their party with a day at the races as well.

The evening will be hosted in The Centaur, the racecourse’s auditorium that has nearly 2,600m² of flexible space - making it the largest venue of its kind between Birmingham and Bournemouth.

Lee Moulson, Regional Head of Sales at Cheltenham Racecourse, said: “I know it may seem early to be thinking about Christmas, but spaces are already being booked for this year’s special event. The Great Gatsby seemed like the perfect theme for 2018, giving everyone who comes along a 1920s experience that they won’t forget. We are very excited to have Jivin Miss Daisy performing on both nights. They are a fantastic band and are sure to be a hit with everyone. The menu for the meal is being worked on now, but we are coming up with a festive-themed three course dinner that I am sure will be a hit with all guests. Last year’s celebrations were a huge success and so we want to give people the opportunity to secure their place now and avoid disappointment.”
