Going news and updated non-runners at Cheltenham's November Meeting

Press Release 17th November 2019 Cheltenham

The going for Sunday, 17 November, remains:

Soft, Heavy in places

Clerk of the Course Simon Claisse said: "What an amazing effort by the whole team here yesterday to get racing underway after the floods on Thursday had left parts of the course under three feet of water.

"It was terrific to see Happy Diva, trained by Kerry Lee, winning the BetVictor Gold Cup and we had eight terrific races throughout a thrilling afternoon with a crowd of over 33,000 people.

"It has been dry overnight and the going remains Soft, Heavy in places.

"The forecast is for a mostly dry day, although there is the chance of a light shower."

"Gates open at 11.00am. There are two pony races at 11.45am and 12.00pm, before professional racing kicks off at 12.45pm with a terrific seven-race card in prospect."

Due to waterlogging on the chase course approaching the third last fence, which will be omitted, ALL races will be run on the hurdle course coming down the hill, with the third-last hurdle having been taken out.

Due to waterlogging on the landing side of fence 4 (also 27) on the Cross Country course, this fence will be omitted on both circuits.
