Saturday 16th November - GOING NEWS & NON-RUNNERS

Press Release 16th November 2019 Cheltenham

The going at Cheltenham for Saturday, 16 November, day two of The November Meeting is:

Soft, Heavy in places

Due to waterlogging on the ChaseCourse approaching the third last fence, which will be omitted, ALL races will be run on the hurdle course coming down the hill, with the third last hurdle having been taken out.

Simon Claisse, Clerk of the Course at Cheltenham said: "Having lost yesterday's card here at Cheltenham Racecourse, due to the deluge which hit the county on Wednesday and Thursday, we are delighted that racing will get underway today with a stellar eight-race card. This makes today the most valuable November Saturday in the history of the racecourse.

"Racing kicks off at 12.05pm with the feature race, the BetVictor Gold Cup with 18 runners, due off at 2.25pm. Gates open at 10.00am.

"We have had just two and a half millimetres of rain overnight and the ground remains Soft, Heavy in places. We have had to make a few changes out on the track to avoid waterlogged ground but we are delighted after everybody's efforts on Thursday and Friday to be racing today."
