The going for day two of the The Festival™ presented by Magners has changed to SOFT all over (from Soft, Heavy in places) on the Chase & Hurdle courses.
The Old Course is in use again today. Action will switch to the New Course tomorrow, Thursday, 12 March and on Friday, 13 March.
The Cross Country course, used for today's Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase (4.10pm), is SOFT, HEAVY IN PLACES. The Aintree fence on the Cross Country course (number 4 and 27), will be omitted due to waterlogged ground.
Simon Claisse, Regional Head Of Racing, Jockey Club Racecourses South West and Clerk Of The Course at Cheltenham, said: "It's a beautiful morning here at Cheltenham Racecourse for day two of The Festival™ presented by Magners. A wonderful day's racing yesterday saw Epatante win the G1 Unibet Champion Hurdle.
"It has been dry overnight, and the ground is now Soft all over on the Chase and Hurdle courses and Soft, Heavy in places on the Cross Country course.
"Gates open at 10.30am with the first race at 1.30pm and the feature contest, the G1 Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase, at 3.30pm. We look forward to another extraordinary afternoon of racing."
Today is predicted to be dry, while showers are possible tomorrow and could yield up to three millimetres. Friday is forecast to be settled.
