The Jockey Club is delighted to announce that Equi-Trek will continue to sponsor the Frequent Runner Award for the 2020-21 season for racecourses in the South West of The Jockey Club; Cheltenham, Warwick, Wincanton and Exeter Racecourse.
Leading luxury horse transport company, Equi-Trek has partnered the award since the 2010-11 season and will continue for the current season.
The 2019-20 Equi-Trek Frequent Runner Award was won by Somerset-based trainer, Philip Hobbs who took the honours for the 40 horses or more in training category. A stellar season saw Philip win the Grade 2 Shloer Chase with his stable star Defi Du Seuil in fantastic fashion and the yard’s promising hurdler, Thyme Hill, coming out on top in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle, both at Cheltenham’s November Meeting in 2019.
Trainer Philip Hobbs said: “We love to support our local Jockey Club Racecourses in the South West, and this award is the icing on the cake. Cheltenham, Exeter, Warwick & Wincanton are all brilliant racecourses and we are lucky to have them on our doorstep.
“It is wonderful news that Equi-Trek will continue to support this competitive award, and we look forward to travelling around the country in our smart new horsebox this season!”
Jack Royle, Jockey Club Head of Partnerships – West said of the continued partnership: “A huge congratulations to Philip Hobbs and Jeremy Scott who were successful last season. It is fantastic to see so many trainers getting behind this award, and targeting their horses at The Jockey Club South West courses.
“We are delighted to have Equi-Trek back on board this season. They have been fantastic partners of the Frequent Runner award for the past 10 years and we are thrilled to be able to continue to work with the team.”
Equi-Trek Managing Director, Tom Janion, said: “Our horsebox range is extremely popular in the racing world as equine welfare and safety when travelling is a top priority for trainers. We are committed to supporting the industry and are thrilled to be sponsoring the award for the tenth year running.
“We have provided an Equi-Trek Sonic for Philip and his team which offers excellent safety features, a tack and changing area which is separate from the horses and it can be driven by anyone with a standard car licence. One of our most popular models, the Sonic is of exceptional build quality and offers superior performance and reliability.”
The 20-21 Equi-Trek Frequent Runner Award has already begun, with scores counting from 21st September 2020 through to 26th May 2021. You can keep an eye on the leaderboard here.
