Despite the Moët & Chandon July Festival being staged behind closed doors from Thursday 9 – Saturday 11 July 2020, spectators can stay involved via The Jockey Club Newmarket’s social channels, using the #JulyFestAtHome.

The Jockey Club Newmarket has launched a Virtual Style Awards to replace its esteemed ‘Best Dressed’ competition and the first ever July Festival Floral Awards, both of which will run throughout the three-day festival.

Dress to impress and enter Newmarket’s Virtual Style Awards for the chance to be named ‘Best Dressed’ and to win a beauty hamper worth over £400. Entries are free during the Moët & Chandon July Festival, with judging taking place on the afternoon of Saturday 11 July. The winners will be announced on Newmarket Racecourses Instagram channel.

To enter, take a photo dressed in your Moët & Chandon July Festival outfit and share on Instagram, using the #StyleAwards and tag @newmarket_racecourses & @velvetmag

Judges include media partners, Velvet Magazine, Rosie Rubun, Founder of Rosie Olivia Millinery and Laura Blair, Founder of London Fashion Girl.

The Moët & Chandon July Festival is known for its vibrant floral displays, almost as much as for its fashion, fine dining and of course, premium Flat racing.

The inaugural July Festival Floral Awards will be judged by Tom Hoblyn, who will select his Gold, Silver-Gilt, Silver and Bronze winners, each of whom will receive prizes courtesy of Moët & Chandon to enjoy at home this summer. Points will be awarded for impact, originality, overall impression and quality of planting.

To enter simply take a photo of the floral display you’re growing in your garden, pots or window box and share it on Instagram with a brief explanation of what you’ve created, using #FloralAwards and tagging both @tomhoblyn and @newmarket_racecourses. Entries open on Thursday 9 July and close at 2pm on Saturday 11 July.

Sophie Able, General Manager of Newmarket, said “We are delighted to launch both the Virtual Style Awards and July Festival Floral Awards at this years’ Moët & Chandon July Festival which is renowned for its fashion and abundance of colourful blooms as well as top-class Flat racing. We hope to encourage racing fans to create their own July Festival at Home to add to the spirit of what is set to be a fantastic three-days.”
