Marton Abbey was purchased at the Tattersalls Cheltenham/Newmarket Sale in April 2021 after finishing second on debut in the Maiden Point to Point at Hornby Castle for Jacqueline Coward.
The five-year-old son of Orientator jumped accurately in the main and stayed on in very taking fashion after the last fence, galloping all the way to the line and only just being beaten. He showed a very willing attitude and looks sure to benefit hugely from this initial experience and looks very much to be a chaser in the making. He had his National Hunt debut over the fixed-brush hurdles at Worcester on 7th October and finished a creditable fifth with plenty to improve on so an exciting prospect for the season ahead.
