Ever wondered how a jockey keeps in tip top condition?
Well we’re bring you Great British Racing’s Jockey Fit programme to help keep you active during the nationwide lockdown. The exercise programme is full of the kind of workouts Britain’s leading riders go through to make sure they’re at the top of their game.
Modelled on elements of the test that all professional jockeys must pass to be able to race, Jockey Fit is a time-effective, manageable programme people can undertake in their own time, in their own space.
Exercises ranging from squats, jump-lunges, burpees through to bear crawls, flutter kicks and single-leg deadlifts are all included.
There’s even a video to help walk (or run!) you through everything you need to know, with one of the world’s top young Flat jockeys, Tom Marquand, as your instructor.
