Prosecco DOC Alberto Nani Organic NV Treviso

Veneto, Italy

abv 11%

£9.00 at Asda

The UK is the biggest market for Prosecco and the highly-rated producer Alberto Nani is rightly very popular. This is a delicious, soft and elegant Organic Prosecco, which has floral and citrus character and is great on its own or with lovely Grana Padano cheese, pizza, vegan pizzas, sushi, seafood and mini quiches.

Dr. Loosen Slate Hill Riesling 2018,

Germany

abv 8.5%

£9.49 in a mixed case of 6 at Majestic

Riesling is a Group One grape variety and the Dr Loosen wines have a fantastic reputation, coming from the best vineyards in the Mosel Valley in Germany. This is a classic, quaffable and off dry with lime and honeyed flavours and refreshing acidity. A really versatile wine to pair with asian dishes, fish, chicken and vegetable curries. Great for takeaways.

Castellore Italian Pecorino 2019

abv 12.5%

£5.49 at Aldi

Italy has so much to offer, including this white made from the trendy Pecorino variety. Dry, with attractive citrus fruit flavours and crisp acidity this is so easy drinking. Pair with lighter dishes like a fresh tomato salad, goats’ cheese or seasonal asparagus-based plates. At £5.49 this really is amazing value!

Cellier des Dauphins, Les Dauphins Côtes du Rhône Villages 2018,

Rhône, France

abv 14%

£9.99 at Waitrose

A real all-rounder, a warm, smooth, spicy, medium bodied red that is great on its own or with roast chicken, sausage stew, ratatouille and veggie burgers.

Dark Horse Chardonnay 2018,

California, United States

abv 13.5%

£8.50 at Tesco

The Dark Horse range of wines offer incredible value from California and make a note of their Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. This underrated Chardonnay has big personality, with flavours of vanilla, tropical fruits, toasty well-balanced oak and a creamy, full-bodied finish. Pair with spring vegetable risotto, roast chicken, Caesar salad or pasta with a creamy sauce.

Casillero del Diablo Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2018,

Valle Central, Chile

abv 13.5%

£8.00 at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda, Co-op and Waitrose

Part of the high-quality Concha y Toro group, this red is a great introduction to South American Cabernet Sauvignon, packed with cassis, ripe dark fruits and spice, making it a great match with a quality burger or steak. As an extra bonus this is available in most of our major supermarkets.

Don’t forget – drink in moderation, enjoy and stay safe!
