Jockey Club Racecourses to stage 337 racing fixtures in 2020

Press Release 6th August 2019

Jockey Club Racecourses (JCR) is scheduled to stage 337 racing fixtures in 2020, according to British Racing’s Fixture List, published today.

The total is nearly a quarter of all racing fixtures run in Britain (1,481) and is made up of 179 Flat fixtures, 157 Jumps fixtures and one mixed card staged across The Jockey Club’s nationwide portfolio of 15 racecourse venues.

A total of 47 fixtures were secured by JCR through the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) fixture allocation process, based on its industry-leading prize money contributions and sporting performance measures.

JCR stages the Randox Health Grand National, the Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup and four of the five Classics on the Flat. With The Jockey Club governed by Royal Charter, all profits are reinvested to benefit British Racing.

Paul Fisher, Chief Executive of Jockey Club Racecourses, said:

“We look forward to staging thrilling racing at The Jockey Club’s 15 racecourses in 2020, from truly world-class festivals through to the important grassroots of our sport.

“At Jockey Club Racecourses we welcome nearly two million people each year to enjoy quality racedays, with more Group and Graded races than anywhere else, and themed events ranging from family days to music nights.

“Over the last few years we have invested significantly in customer facilities to provide a first-class experience for racegoers and into prize money and our racing surfaces to produce the most competitive racing possible.”
