Treat your taste buds with this sweet treat. Quick and simple to make, these flapjacks are the perfect accompliment to an afternoon cup of tea.


  • 175g Butter

  • 175g Golden syrup

  • 175g Brown sugar

  • 350g Oats

  • ½ lemon (optional)

  • Pinch ginger (optional)


You can substitute honey for the golden syrup. Plus you can add other spices for example nutmeg or cinnamon.



  1. Pre heat the oven to 150⁰C

  2. Line a 20cm square baking tray with greaseproof paper

  3. Melt the butter in a pan and use a little melted butter to grease the tin.

  4. Add the syrup and the sugar and combine. Add the rest of the ingredients.

  5. Pack into the tray and push down. Bake in the oven for 30 mins approximately until nicely coloured but still soft to the touch.

  6. Leave to cool for 15 minutes then cut into squares.
