The Jockey Club Jump Racing Awards

The McCoy Awards 2020 Update:

In light of the current situation around COVID-19, we have taken the decision to cancel this year’s McCoy Awards which was due to be held at Cheltenham Racecourse on Friday 18th September.

The awards, held for the first time in the 2016-2017 season and named after the record-breaking 20 time champion jockey Sir AP McCoy, reflect on the triumphs and highlights of the season.

We are all very disappointed not to have the opportunity to stage The McCoys this year, as they have provided an excellent opportunity to recognise all that is great about jump racing, but we very much look forward to hosting the awards in 2021.

Each season at Wincanton Racecourse we see the stars and unsung heroes of the sport deliver performances that fire the imagination. Who knows what triumphs we will see this season! New stars, old favourites and the best that Jump racing has to offer.

Here at The Jockey Club we like to celebrate all that makes Jump racing special. The McCoy Awards, hosted at Cheltenham Racecourse, celebrate outstanding performances on all of The Jockey Club's Jump racecourses during the Jump racing season.

The awards are named after Sir AP McCoy, the record-breaking 20-time Champion jockey who retired from race riding in April 2015. They reflect on the triumphs and the highlights of the each season and celebrate the range of characters in the sport. From the unwavering support of owners to the often unsung dedication of stable staff, these awards exist to recognise the individuals without whom the Jump wouldn't capture the imagination.
