Why is it called Kalendar?
The name 'Kalendar' is in reference to the first racing calendar which was produced by The Jockey Club in April 1752 by John Pond. It gave notice that there would be a race at Newmarket for 'horses the Property of the Noblemen and Gentlemen belonging to The Jockey Club'.
