Elle Est Belle and Ishkhara Lady can’t be split in Listed Karndean Designflooring Mares' Bumper

Press Release 14th November 2020 Cheltenham

By Racenews

The Listed Karndean Designflooring Mares' Bumper produced a second dead-heat in the space of four years, with Elle Est Belle (16/5) and Ishkhara Lady (11/2) passing the post together. Irish Roe and My Khaleesi also dead-heated in the extended two-mile race in 2016.

Both horses brought unbeaten records into contest, with Elle Est Belle having made a winning introduction for Dan Skelton at Aintree and the Harry Fry-trained Ishkhara Lady scoring at Uttoxeter in October and Plumpton in December, 2018.

Elle Est Belle took up the running at the top of the straight for Harry Skelton and looked set for glory, only for Ishkhara Lady to battle strongly in the closing stages under Sean Bowen for a share of the spoils.

Dan Skelton said: “Elle Est Belle is a nice filly. She won well at Aintree on her debut and it is nice to win this race in a dead-heat. Harry’s horse also looks nice.”

Harry Fry said: “We have always liked Ishkhara Lady and it’s lovely to dead-heat with Dan’s horse who also looks nice. We are pleased with what she did today and she is a horse to look forward to."
