Find the information you need in the relevant drop-down below, whether you're an Owner, Trainer, Jockey, or Stable Staff.

VIEW raceday MAP

Thank you for declaring your horse to run at Cheltenham. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you, and your guests to The Home of Jump Racing, and hope that you have an enjoyable day with us.

As you will be aware, we are operating under very different circumstances this season, to those which we have previously known. We are following various strict protocols implemented by the Government whilst still striving to offer the best racing experience possible to Owners.

We are pleased to be able to offer six Owners' Badges, along with six working suppers per runner.  In accordance with Government Guidelines, you can only mix with people from your household or support bubble.  Please note, badges will NOT be posted out, as per previous years but will be available for collection on arrival at the Owners’ desk at the North Entrance.

Following our previous letter, I would like to remind you that Owners' Badges and meals must be booked in advance, and no later than 4.00pm on the day prior to the raceday.  We are unable to accept any bookings made after this deadline as all our track and trace data has to be submitted in advance.

If you haven’t done so already, you and your guests are required to have completed the ROA COVID Learning module and read the COVID Code of Conduct and Terms of Entry. It is also recommended that you download the NHS COVID Track & Trace App.  National recommendations have also advised us to encourage anyone attending who is not subject to regular testing under the Return to Sport/Elite Sport guidance to access a lateral flow COVID test on the day they are due to attend.  Testing kits are available from participating pharmacies which can be found on the NHS test and trace map.  The test takes thirty minutes and anyone testing positive should not attend but go to get a PCR test.  We would also recommend a follow up test a few days after attending.

Car Parking & Badge Collection

The racecourse is just a 5 minute drive from Cheltenham Town Centre, on Evesham Road; and within a mile of the M5 Junction 10 (Sat Nav Postcode GL50 4SH).

Entry to the Racecourse is via the main entrance off the roundabout at the top of the Evesham Road. Attached is a car label which you can either print off or show to the car park attendants from your phone.  They will direct you to the Owners’ parking in the Amber Zone Car Park (situated behind the North Entrance).

Gates will open at 4pm, with the first race due off at 5.00pm.

Vix Bowen-Jones & her team will be on hand at the Owners' Entrance to provide you with your Badges, direct you to your dining facility and run through the Amber Zone areas dedicated for owners. Trainers, Jockeys and Officials have their own dedicated Green Zone, please note the cross over of Zones is strictly prohibited under current Government guidelines.  They will also be happy to help with any queries you may have.

Dining Facilities

Wendy Rollason (07889 383173) will coordinate the suppers, which will be served on Levels 1 (Annual Members) and Level 2 (Owners & Trainers) of the Princess Royal Stand. Both facilities are course facing and have balconies for viewing the racing. Tables will be kept to a maximum of six to provide spaces for those attending with you from your household or support bubble, in accordance with current Government guidelines. Face Masks must be worn at all times but they can be removed whilst seated at your table when eating and drinking.  To comply with the current Government COVID-19 Guidelines the meal offering we are able to provide is “canteen style” dining, served from a counter which can be eaten at a table which will be allocated to you on your arrival.

Please note, it may not be possible to keep your table for the whole evening. Tables will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, with a turnaround of tables throughout the day, to ensure we can accommodate as many Owners as possible.  Tea, coffee and non-alcoholic beverages will be served in these facilities.  However, as Government Guidelines are allowing pubs to serve alcoholic beverages outside from 12th April, Quevega’s which is an outdoor bar located above the  Winners’ Enclosure steppings will be open should you want something a little stronger.

Current Protocols

Aside from the wearing of a face mask, except when eating and drinking, we would kindly ask that social distancing is respected and maintained, along with regular hand washing / sanitisation, to help protect us all.  You are requested to mix with people from your household or support bubble.  Please also check any restrictions put in place in local areas and follow the relevant Government advice (including travel to / from any affected areas).

Our racecourse will be split into two different zones (Amber and Green) while we are racing behind closed doors, view map. The Amber Zone is the area provided for Owners and the limited spectators we are allowed to admit. The Green Zone is the area provided for racing participants and essential staff only. It is vital that you do not enter the Green Zone.  There will be dedicated areas around the Parade Ring for owners to see their horses in the Pre-Parade Ring, the Parade Ring and Unsaddling Enclosure post-race if your horse isn’t in the first three.

The 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed horses will unsaddle in the Winners’ Enclosure.  Connections of these horses will be able to greet them and have a debrief from the Parade Ring Steppings.  Presentations to winning connections will be made in Quevegas, and placed connections will also be invited to to watch a replay of their race.
