Nothing matches the experience of having a runner at Cheltenham, particularly at The Festival™ presented by Magners.
Our dedicated staff are here to ensure that Owners' and Trainers' visits run smoothly, from the distribution of badges to parking, access to the enclosures, lunch and, for those lucky enough to have a winner, the presentation of trophies.
We ensure a balanced programme of races leading up to The Festival™ presented by Magners in March and to the close of our season in April, giving Owners the chance to run horses of all levels of experience here at Cheltenham. More details of this can be found in our Online Programme Book.

At the six-day confirmation stage, we shall send you the following, if you reside in the UK:
- Two car park labels
- Four admission tickets and four Owners’ & Trainers’ badges. Those with a declared runner can arrange an additional two badges/tickets by calling Victoria Bowen-Jones (see below for contact details).
TRAINERS (NON-NATIONAL TRAINERS' FEDERATION)
- One car park label
- Two admission tickets and two Owners’ & Trainers’ badges
NTF members can gain entry into the racecourse with their metal badges. Those with entries will be sent a car label only and will be able to access the Owners’ & Trainers’ Bar on level two of The Princess Royal Stand for all meetings except The Festival, where only those with runners will have access.
It is important that admission tickets and badges are kept together, as the badge alone will not provide access into the racecourse.
We will not despatch tickets and badges to Owners or Trainers with non-UK Mainland addresses. Their tickets and badges will be ready for collection at the racecourse on the day of racing at the Owners and Trainers desk at the Hall of Fame entrance. View our two collection points here.
For every race at Cheltenham, winning connections will receive a framed picture of their horse. Additional copies and placed horse images can be purchased from our Official Partner, Raceday Photos.
For Owners who have horses entered, the ticket and badge distribution at the six-day confirmation stage remains the same as for the other meetings at Cheltenham, with the exception of The Albert Bartlett, The Handicaps and The Foxhunter where the arrangements are as below:
- THE ALBERT BARTLETT NOVICES’ HURDLE
For this race, the issue of tickets and badges will be restricted to the 20 confirmations with a guaranteed run if declared and the 10 least likely to be balloted out in the event that there is a ballot. The remaining Owners with confirmed entries will be sent car labels only, with tickets being put up for collection at the racecourse should their horse get a run.
- THE HANDICAPS
For these races, the ticket and badge distribution will be limited to the top 30 entries at the six-day confirmation stage and car labels only will be sent for the following 10 horses to assist with access to the Owners’ & Trainers’ desk in the North Entrance should their horses subsequently get a run. Provision will be made for the remaining owners whose horses after declarations get into their intended races.
- THE ST JAMES’ PLACE FOXHUNTER STEEPLE CHASE CHALLENGE CUP
For this race, the issue of tickets and badges will be restricted to the 24 confirmations with a guaranteed run if declared and the 10 least likely to be balloted out in the event that there is a ballot. The remaining Owners with confirmed entries will be sent car labels only, with tickets being put up for collection at the racecourse should their horse get a run.
Lapel pin badges will be sent to allow access to the Parade Ring, Pre Parade Ring, Winner’s Enclosure and Weighing Room for those with runners.
Trainers of horses still holding entries at the 10-day stage will receive two tickets and a daily pin badge corresponding to the day they have a runner. NTF badge holders who don’t have runners can still gain access into the racecourse with their metal badges but will not be able to access Owners’ & Trainers’ facilities. Trainers with runners can collect two wristbands from the reception desk in the Tattersalls Owners’ & Trainers’ Pavilion for access into this facility and the Owner’s & Trainers’ Bar on level two of The Princess Royal Stand.
The Tattersalls Owners’ & Trainers’ Lunch Pavilion, which operates throughout the season, will remain available exclusively for those with a runner at The Festival. For each declared runner, Owners are offered four complimentary lunches, trainers will receive two. There is no booking procedure at this meeting and due to the pressure on this facility, tables cannot be reserved for the day.
The Owners’ & Trainers’ bar in the Princess Royal Stand is also available exclusively for those with a runner on the day.
Access to both facilities is via wristband which can be collected from the reception desk in the Tattersalls Owners’ & Trainers’ Pavilion below the Parade Ring at the entrance to the Tented Village.
